Weekend in Whistler
  Designed by Norgrove Web Enterprises

Peak of Whistler MountainThe Moose Group went on a visit to Whistler for the weekend via the Sea to Sky Highway, stopping at Shannon Falls on the way up. Chalet with Hot Tub!At Whistler, Rod, Tamara, Eskimo & myself took the gondola up to the summit of Whistler Mountain before taking a hike up to the peak. It was somewhat chilly and cold there. The remedy for that was a hot tub at the chalet where we were staying. Niiiicccceee!

The following day Eskimo & myself did a ziptrek ecotour: venturing through Whistler's rare ancient rainforest (they claim it is more endangered than the Amazon) between Whistler & Blackcomb Mountains on a network of four incredible zipline rides (170ft up) joined by aerial platforms, canopy bridges and boardwalks.Whistler Village Brandywine FallsI was anticipating some brown trouser moments but it was awesome. Whistler is trying to become the most sustainable community in Canada (in readiness for the 2010 winter Olympics). Ziptrek Ecotour

From there it was back to Vancouver via Brandywine Falls, Britannia Beach and Cypress Mountain lookout (with good views over Vancouver). We caught up with another member of the original group back in the Irish bar in town in the evening (had an excellent roast dinner there).
