I have visited Europe many times, to many more countries than are featured here. This part of the site only intends to give a taster of the different countries and is neither in-depth nor widespread in the information given. My best advice is if you want to know what its really like, go visit!! For us Brits that's really only a hop, skip and a jump across that small stream known as the English Channel! :-)

The particular countries included below were the result of firstly a 2003 whistle-stop Euro (tikki) tour aimed at embracing the food, wine, culture, history, little towns, buzzing nightlife, arty cities, hidden alpine stops and beer of Europe. This trip took me through France, Monaco, Italy, Vatican City, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany & Switzerland. Stops included Paris, Nice, Pisa, Rome, Florence, Venice, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Lauterbrunnen and a night-time excursion to Monte Carlo. The second was a week-long trip back to Italy namely Rome, Assisi and Naples in 2004. This is why Italy is included twice if you're wondering...

My 2003 trip was initially fraught with difficulties. Imagine, if you will, a small band of expectant adventurers waiting in anticipation of this great trip at Charing Cross station at the ungodly hour of 0800 on a Sunday
morning to be told that the trip was no longer operating!! Imagine the disbelief and the verbal phrases of many languages uttered! That was it. We were left stranded. Could have been worse - I heard of 1 girl who
was stranded in Croatia. Thankfully I was stranded on home turf. It appeared that the company was in financial difficulties and no longer operating full stop! However in the end, I got round using another company and ultimately it was another very successful mission completed. An excellent trip - met lots of great people and accomplished more that I had originally thought I would. In some ways, the hassle of the previous company going into liquidation has actually resulted in a much better trip!!
