Prague
  Designed by Norgrove Web Enterprises

The main (new) centre of PraguePrague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is a very picturesque city and beer is very cheap. We soon discovered this on the first night in the hostel bar (well I had to be social with the rest of my busabout group!!!). 1/2 litre of Czech beer was 25K - 30K (approx 45K = 1GDP so work that out for yourself!), even in the clubs (I'll come to that).

The patron saint of the Czech Republic: Wenceslas. The very same who ended up in a Christmas Carol! On the first day in Prague, a group of us took advantage of a walking tour through the city, which provided some very interesting ancedotes, stories and historical points of interest. We decided that as we'd seen Prague by day, we should also see it by night.

Sampling the local delicacies: Czech Beer!We tried a local restaurant with some of the local delicacies (including the beverages) before heading off to 'Europe's Largest Nightclub' (their words, not mine) - a very interesting experience though and once again the local Czech beer was only 25K! We also tried a shot Absinent, a local spirit. Tastes a bit like aniseed, about 80% proof. A Czech shot is a double UK shot! Techno, Hip-Hop and Retro seem to be their preferred tastes. We did meet a few Brits, in particular a group of Scots on a stag weekend complete with kilts.....
