"Once the travel bug bites there is no known antidote, and I know that I shall be happily infected for the rest of my life." Michael Palin, www.palinstravels.co.uk

Travelling is the opportunity to step out of one's little world & glimpse someone else's, take a thoughtful insight into other cultures & customs, embrace new experiences and open your eyes to the world beyond your own doorstep.

In September 1997, I embarked upon a 15-month working holiday to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Rarotonga in the South Pacific. The Travel Bug bit and I was hooked!

Christmas 2001 I revisited Australia & New Zealand, stopping off at Singapore on the way home. I made a second return visit to these countries in 2004. Other countries that I've visited include USA (LA, Florida, New York, California, Arizona, Utah & Nevada), Tenerife, Thailand, Malaysia, Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Vatican City, Monaco, Switzerland and Canada. Closer to home, I've also ventured to Guernsey, Ireland and Scotland.

While travelling I've seen things I never thought I'd see or things I'd never even imagined, gone to places I never thought I'd go to or that even existed and done things I never thought I'd do. With each trip I am given a whole new perspective on life: Images are remoulded, perceptions change and beliefs strengthen or decay. For me travel is accompanied by independence, tolerance & self-reliance.

This site is dedicated to those individuals who allow me to inundate their inboxes with the mad mutterings of a worldly-wise traveller and for those out there who are contemplating travel but not yet made the move. There is information on some of the countries I've visited which I hope will be of help to those who decide to follow in my footsteps. For those of you who prefer to stay on Terra Firma, I hope this still makes interesting reading for you!
